Ariza is a producer, composer, musical director, arranger and guitarist from Bogotá, Colombia currently located in Los Angeles, California.
Ariza graduated Summa Cum Laude in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music. During his time in school, he participated as a guitarist in several performances in Boston with the likes of Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Aloe Blacc, Chris Turner, Bilal, Kirby Lauryen, Brett Heart, Ray Greene and Lenny Pickett.
He musical directed, produced, arranged and performed shows internationally in Rabat, Morocco, opening for Maroon 5 in the Mawazine: Rhythms of the world festival in 2015 with Ghita, as well as Bucharest, Romania in the Arenele Romane with Mihai Cernea.
In 2015, he was commissioned by Berklee to write, produce, MD, conduct, and perform in a 16 song medley consisting of Grammy award nominated alumni for record of the year 2015. This piece was featured in the Boston Hearld, Huffington Post and Caracol Radio in Miami.
During his first 6 months in LA he was working for the music house “Human Worldwide”, composing music for TV commercials for brands such as Verizon, Hulu, Starbucks, and several others.
Ariza is working with several grammy award winning musicians and artists such as Sandra Crouch and Philip Lassiter. He is currently working full time as a musical director, producer and guitarist for ROK artist Maisy Kay. He produced the title track for Jean-Michel Cousteau’s “Wonders of the Sea” performed by Maisy Kay. He collaborated closely with the orchestration master Jae Deal on his solo album “The Colour Collection” as a co-writer, co-producer, and co-orchestrator.
Ariza has been playing a few residencies in LA with Nikki Glaspie (Beyoncé, Maceo Parker), Philip Lassiter and Leddie Garcia.
He has been releasing solo music for about a year, amassing more than one million streams on spotify, including an official remix the UK band The Staves' "No Me, No You, No More" currently released under Atlantic Records UK.
Some of his tracks have been featured in Spotify playlists such as "New Music Friday" in Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Italy, and Iceland, "fresh finds", and more. Most recently he was session player for two songs of the new Julia Michaels record, "What a time Ft. Niall Horan", and "Into You".
